Birds of southern Tanzania

Marie-Paule Schaijes is a vet who has sold her practice in order to volunteer in Africa. As you can see one of her favourite hobbies is wildlife and she has travelled to Selous and Ruaha in Tanzania a few times.

These photos were taken on her last trip this September, when she visited Lake Manze camp in the Selous Game Reserve, and Mdonya Old River camp in Ruaha National park.

There are over 440 recorded bird species in the Selous and over 550 in Ruaha. These are some of the highest concentrations in Africa.
